Alva’s Institute of Engineering & Technology, Moodbidri, nurtures its researchers at Department of Physics, AIET through various labs and research ecosystem, extends support to UG and PG students of STEM to take up RESEARCH INTERNSHIP for a short duration of six-month accounting for their curriculum.
The Department of Physics, AIET, Moodbidri has been quite fortunate enough to have a research culture nurturing management which has wholeheartedly funded few instruments and few others procured using Govt. research grants (VGST-CISEE 2020-21). This has resulted in establishment of Nano Organic Electronics Lab and Earth’s Field NMR Lab (NOEL-EFNMR Lab) and Alva’s Centre for Advanced Research (ACAR) in 2017. The laboratories are well equipped with following research facility.
NOEL-EFNMR LAB
1. Kiethley’s Digital Current Source meter (Tetronix) – Conductivity measurement
2. Variable temperature – Two & four probe measurement – VT Conductivity measurement
3. Magritek’s Earth’s Field NMR/ MRI Spectrometer – Low-field-NMR-Imaging
4. LabIndia’s UV-VIS Spectrophotometer – Variable wavelength/ Multiple sample UV-VIS
5. High end Computational facility – Density Functional Theory Calculation, Parallel Computational facility at IMMM, Le Mans, FRANCE
6. SS built Glove Box (one pair glove)– Inert atmosphere or other extended research usage
7. Basic facilities viz., synthesis lab (all graded glass wares), Hot air oven, Water bath (circulating), Refrigeration, Centrifuge, High precision balance, Magnetic stirrer (Variable temperature SS and Ceramic plate)
ACAR LAB
1. Excel Instruments’ Spray Pyrolysis setup – facility for growing Thin film
2. Excel Instruments’ Gas sensor measurement – facility for measurement in sensors
3. CH Instruments’ Electrochemical Workstation – facility for corrosion study
4. Basic facilities – DC Power analysers, Digital oscilloscopes, Spinners for sample preparation etc.
