BEST (Bajaj Engineering Skills Training) is a CSR initiative by Bajaj Auto Ltd. with PES University, offering 4- and 6-month certification courses to upskill diploma and engineering graduates in Industry 4.0 technologies like Mechatronics, Robotics, and Smart Manufacturing.
The Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) program is a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Bajaj Auto Ltd., in collaboration with PES University, Bangalore. Launched to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, BEST aims to equip diploma holders and engineering graduates with advanced manufacturing skills aligned with Industry 4.0.
The program offers two certification tracks: a 4-month Diploma Trainee Engineer (DTE) course and a 6-month Graduate Trainee Engineer (GTE) course. The curriculum encompasses interdisciplinary modules covering Mechatronics, Motion Control & Sensor Technology, Robotics & Automation, and Industry 4.0 & Smart Manufacturing. Students gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with technologies such as Smart Vision, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).
The BEST center at PES University is the first of its kind in Karnataka, focusing on training engineers and diploma holders from Tier 2 and Tier 3 colleges, particularly targeting rural students and female engineers. The initiative is part of Bajaj Auto's broader plan to establish multiple BEST centers across India, aiming to create a skilled workforce ready for the evolving demands of the manufacturing sector.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible for certification from the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), provided they achieve a minimum score of 70% in assessments.
